Another lovely week celebrating lots of success in our Year 5/6 Crews! Once again it was lovely to hear lots of shout outs linking to our character traits and hearing positive things about different children!
Keep up the great work everyone!
The children enjoyed this week’s Hindu story of the 6 blind men and the elephant. The message of the story was that the truth can be seen in different ways because all of the blind men thought that the elephant looked differently. They had a go at the quiz and even took turns to wear a blindfold and guess what the object was that they were holding. Another fantastic discussion was had about truth and integrity. Well done class 8!
This week in crew, Crew Knowles shared their writing with each other offering verbal critique. We remembered to be kind, helpful and specific with our critique to support our peers with the rest of their writing!
Thank you to everyone who could attend our family learning event today … we hope you enjoyed our Roman Numeral Crack the Code experience! And for those that managed to uncover the secret the message – well done!
Children in the Umbrella Room had a very special treat today when they got to meet our school’s special guests – two little piglets! A big thank you to Miss Myers for bringing them into school. The children were so gentle and caring with the piglets, and it was wonderful to see their faces light up with excitement. The only moment that made everyone jump was when the piglets started squealing loudly, which caused lots of giggles all around!
We have watched an E-Safety video today and the children have sorted some scenarios into true or false. I was really pleased that they listened and understood how to stay safe when online!
Next week in Nursery we will be thinking about Harvest Festival. To help the children to understand what Harvest festival is about please can we ask that your child brings 1 piece of fruit or 1 vegetable to school with them on Monday. This will allow them to explore different fruits and vegetables throughout the week at Nursery.
Thank you for your support
The Nursery Team
A huge thank you to everyone who came to our Nursery book and a biscuit event today, we hope you enjoyed buying a few treats and reading stories with your little ones.
A big thank you to Miss Myers who brought two piglets from her farm to visit nursery this morning. This was to support our phonics learning this week when we have been singing ‘Old McDonald had a farm’ and learning about animal sounds.
The children showed great care for the piglets and thoroughly enjoyed stoking them.
