Some of the EYFS children did some great guessing today of how many sweets there are in the tub!
The LC can’t wait to count them to see who is the winner!
This morning we had great fun at Family Learning. The Nursery children loved having their special grown-ups come into school to do lots of craft and reading activities and help prepare for our expedition party next week! Thank you so much to all who came, we had a wonderful time!
These pictures show some of our great mathematicians at work today. We have loved exploring capacity with water, counting the models we make out of playdough and creating pictures using different shaped magformers. Luca is our Learning Legend for demonstrating his amazing maths skills in counting and recognising numbers. Well done Luca!
Wow, what a start to Maths Week in Nursery! Hopscotch, a shape hunt, exploring with playdough, counting lemons and matching spots on leaves to numbers!
Apryl was our Learning Legend today for using her knowledge of measures, which was our maths topic last week, to talk about who’s tower was the tallest and shortest. Well done Apryl!
I’m already looking forward to sharing what Maths Week brings tomorrow… I think it’s going to be good!
This week in nursery the children have been using words to describe and compare Iength.
I wonder what is the longest thing you can find at home?!
Here is Jacob with his postcard following an amazing week of showing kindness to his friends and following our Be Kind HoWLS. Jacob has been working hard in maths sharing his ideas with his friends in relation to length and the words that we use in our play and conversations! Keep up the great work Jacob!
This week in nursery we have been learning about Longer and Shorter using a variety of equipment. The children have loved drawing lines with chalk on the carpet and using multi link.
We have also enjoyed listening to the story ‘When Grandma gives you a lemon tree’, the children have been investigating lemons in their play and a few even had a sneaky taste too
Well done for all your hard work this week 🙂
This morning we had a visit from Pastor Kevin who came in to talk to the children about Harvest. The children loved dancing to his songs and enjoyed making animals sounds too.
Thank you for coming to visit us Pastor Kevin
This week we were very lucky to have had Fireman James from south Yorkshire Fire and rescue visit the Children in Nursery to talk about safety.
The children thoroughly enjoyed his visit and loved seeing the uniform he wears.
Thank you for coming to see us Fireman James
