Celebration of Learning

Have a wonderful Easter break and we will see you in the summer term.

Nursery Team

It’s great to be back!

Hello children, parents and carers!

For those who don’t know me, I’m Mrs Hay and I’ll be returning from maternity leave after Easter as one of the nursery teachers. I had a wonderful day with the children today and am very much looking forward to getting to know them more and diving into our new expedition after the holidays.

Have a very happy Easter break and I’ll see you all soon.

An Easter Experience!

This morning the children in Nursery took part in a three part interactive workshop exploring the Easter story. The children met Pete the Palm Tree, visited the garden tomb and heard all about the events of Holy Week. We were so proud of how beautifully the children listened to the stories and responded to questions with thoughtful answers. They also loved using stickers to create their own tomb scene and were blessed with a book and chocolate egg to take home!

Thank you so much to Linda and Linda from Doncaster School’s Work Trust for delivering such a lovely session for us today. We are looking forward to having you back into school again soon!

Diversity Week – We All Have Different Stripes!

This week is Diversity Week and so today in Nursery we started our learning by sharing the book All My Stripes. The children listened to the story of Zane the zebra who recognised the way he experienced the world was different to others due to having Autism. By the end of the story Zane realised with the help of his Mum that he was special, unique and had gifts and talents that may be similar or different to others.

We then spent time talking as a crew about all the characteristics we liked about ourselves, the things we were good at and how these may be the same or different to our friends in nursery. We then recorded all the children’s suggestions on their own zebra stripes for us to look at and discuss together. There were some wonderfully thoughtful answers and the children were so supportive of each other sometimes offering suggestions to one another! Well done Nursery Crew! What a great start to Diversity Week!

Reminder: Easter Experience

On Tuesday we will have our Easter Experience session in Nursery. A team from Doncaster Schools Work Trust will deliver an interactive workshop telling children the story of Jesus’ life over Easter and the events of Holy Week.

The charity are kindly donating their services for free and invite parents to make a voluntary contribution towards covering the cost of the gift each child will take home. If you would like to do so, please bring £2 to school on Tuesday.

If you would like to find out more information about the charity it is available on their website http://dswt.co.uk/

Look out for our blog post sharing with you the fun we get up to!

Family Learning

Thank you to all that could join us for Family Learning yesterday. It was wonderful to see such a good turn out for the Nursery children. A big thank you to Pastor Kevin for teaching us all about Creation in a fun and interactive way.
