Well done to Grace for being Class 9’s Out of this World Winner last week. This was a well deserved reward as Grace joined us new three weeks into the new term, settling in so well and showing us what an absolute super star she is. We are so proud of the amazing start she has made to Green Top and of the beautiful work she has already produced.

Last week we had some amazing work take place and I know that Mrs Miller was blown away by the effort everyone put in to all of their learning. These children earned their learning legends for many different things from fabulous phonics, to awesome artwork linked to our expedition, but the majority for the marvellous progress they are making with addition and subtraction in maths. Well done guys we are super proud of you all.

Ryla has been working so hard since we returned to school and today she blew my socks off with her independent writing. I am so proud of you sweetheart and you definitely deserved you ‘Head teacher’award from Miss Salter.
Class 9 have an awesome week and produced some amazing work. Mrs Miller, Mrs Roe and I have been very proud of each and everyone of you. Big shout out to Grace, Millie and Kizzi who were learning legends yesterday and today for fab maths and writing.

A massive well done from Mrs Miller for the amazing spitfire sketches Lucas and Pandora produced this afternoon during g-block. They were very impressive!
Today we read and followed instructions on how to make a paper plane. We then had such fun exploring who had made a paper plane that would fly and who had the plane that went the furthest. Congratulations to Lilly who won her heat and then went on to win the final of the paper plane race!
The children then collaborated on building the front cover of our new story and made predictions of what the story might be about based on what they could see.
A fabulous English lesson everyone. I can’t wait to start reading the story tomorrow.

On Friday I was blown away by the amazing maths that everyone did in Crew Jackson. The children showed an outstanding understanding of place value by representing numbers in a variety of different ways. We used pictures, part-whole models, base 10 equipment and place value counters and grids to work collaboratively. They then went on to prove their knowledge independently on their exit tickets. I was so impressed that I had to share the photos of their learning with you.
Well done everyone. You are all marvellous mathematicians!
It was an easy choice this week as April has blown our socks off with her amazing learning attitude. We have been so impressed with her use of phonics to help her with her reading and writing. What an amazing role model to the rest of Crew Jackson.
