The children have really enjoyed our music case study and have loved reading our core text Stan and Mabel. They wrote postcards as the main characters about the adventure they went on in the story. I was really impressed with the standard! Well done crew!

Today we started our new text, which is about a variety of animals who love music and decide they want to be the best orchestra in the world.
After reading the book, the children sorted instruments into string, wind and percussion. They then created their own story maps using time connectives to retell the story. I was so impressed with the outcome and their fantastic learning about music this week!

What a fantastic expedition lesson we had today, where a couple of expert musicians came and played a variety of instruments for the children. They all really enjoyed learning a Beatles song and I am loving how engaged they are in their new music case study!
Great work key stage 1 – you are superstars!
The children got the paintbrushes out today and were painting fruit and vegetable baskets for our fruit and veg shop display.
They look fantastic and will help us with our immersion for our new expedition, which is called ‘Ready, steady, grow- How can I be the healthiest version of me?’

These little beauties have had such a fantastic week! They’ve been performing in the key stage 1 nativity, completing work in their expedition books, doing lots of Christmas crafts and have been behaving beautifully and have made me feel so proud of them this week.

Some more wonderful achievements to celebrate last week in our community meeting. It was wonderful to see so many children with shoutouts for their kindness, some awesome reading certificates, Crew Shaw with the best attendance and our FANTASTIC out of this world achievers. We can’t wait for after the Christmas holidays to continue celebrating our amazing KS1 children!

Thank you so much to all of the parents and carers that made it to our celebration assembly yesterday. The children were so pleased with the amount of parents that showed up to listen to them explain about their learning from this term. We hope you really enjoyed it too!
