Year 2 have been working hard over the last couple of weeks to get their presentations drafted, completed and typed onto their individual presentation slides. They have created their own avatars, looked and reflected on their HOWLs and thought about their favourite experiences from their time in ks1. They have presented them so well and I am immensely proud of their confidence!

We have started our transition activities to get the children ready for next year. This week year 2 have begun having playtimes on the year 3 playground, which the children have loved. Let’s see what they get up to on there tomorrow!

In our morning crew sessions we have been learning about different ways to look after ourselves.
Today was all about the importance of handwashing. We watched a video about how easily germs spread. The children then took part in an experiment with glitter that showed how easily germs spread around.
The children then tested their handwashing techniques to see which method was the best and we decided that washing our hands in warm water with soap for 20-30 seconds got rid of the most germs.

The children in classes 7 and 8 have been working very hard the last couple of weeks to prepare a set of slides that summarise their time in key stage 1.
They will talk about their experiences, visits, beautiful work and their HOWLs (habits of work and learning).
They will be working hard to practise presenting to an audience which is a great skill for them to learn so we would love to give them this opportunity.

Here are some great examples of the children’s completely independent creative writing. They looked at some pictures first and played some sentence games around what could be happening in the photo.
The children then chose their own photo to use as a stimulus for their own stories. They really enjoyed writing them and I thoroughly enjoyed reading them. Well done class 8!

Thanks to all of our parents and carers that came today too and supported our school and children. We hope you enjoyed it just as much!
Year 1 and 2 are very excited for their sports day on Friday 14th June. It will take place on the key stage 2 field and we are hoping to start by 9 o clock. Children should come to school in their PE clothes on Friday only. Can every child please be in a pair of trainers and their PE kit: black leggings / tracksuit bottoms or shorts and a PE top. The weather isn’t looking too great but we can hope for the best!
Refreshments will also be available.
Please can we ask that all parents stay behind the respect barrier so that we can safely monitor children.

Class 8 enjoyed looking at the books that are on offer at the book fair. They also loved listening to two new rhyming books that we haven’t heard before.

Crew Shaw has remembered the soldiers who has passed and the ones still alive today. We had a PowerPoint with lots of information, the children absolutely loved it! Then they went on to make their aircraft used. Here are some parts of the learning.
