I was on PPA this afternoon but Mrs Walton sent me a quick email and I shot back to class to check out some absolutely brilliant art work! They all worked incredibly hard on these and all adults in class today we’re super impressed with them all! Well done class 11👍
Every day we have a five minute slot for fluency reading and everyday they impress me even more. Today we had a selection of reading pyramids and the children cracked on so well, reading what was on their tables until the timer ran down. Just look at them!

Today, the children have done lots of learning. We started the day by setting our personal learning targets linked to our HOWLs in crew. Then, we kicked started our English lesson with a homophone matching game, paired reading for our fluency and then some fantastic collaboration in our main reading task.
The children had snort snippets of the text revealed to them and then had to ask questions about it to help build and develop a clear understanding. This created great vocabulary discussions and lots of sharing ideas and answering questions between different groups. Well done guys, I was so impressed with you all in this task.
This week the children have worked extremely hard all week and have achieved lots. They have made lollies and sweets of different sizes. They have made giant sweet bags for our sweet shop display and they have made an individual golden ticket which includes a pledge on the back for what they would like to achieve by the end of this term!
The classroom definitely feels more immersed now and ready for our expedition learning next week!! I’m so excited.
So this afternoon the children of class 11 took do making some collaborative lollipops.  Designing and agreeing on a design and decorating one side each! They are already looking fab but I can’t wait till they are dry and I can wrap them up in cellophane.  Very realistic! Super job guys.
 
The children loved this activity and as I walked round I could really see how well they were working together and supporting each other. Well done guys! 
Today we had out final story about the sun and moon. From this the children looked at what the sun and moon might see and listed a wide range of adjectives to match these creating a brilliant shared word bank! I was very impressed.
They then set to producing a lovely piece of writing to tell me what they think the sun might see when and included lots of beautiful description!

Just look at this super star! In class 11 we have learnt about the phases of the moon and how and why the moon doesn’t always look the same. They were really interested in this and have produced a very simple but effective poster, just like the one below ☺️
