Y6 have been creating some dinosaur fossil pictures using art straws! As you can see, they are taking shape nicely!

The Y6 children in school took part in an English escape room today putting their spelling and grammar knowledge to the test!
Each group had to solve 8 clues to be able to escape the classroom but unfortunately my clues were too tricky and no one did! I hope they’ll be okay in there overnight?!
Well done to Team Jim Bob who got 6 out of the 8 digits and almost escaped!!
This afternoon, the children were creating their own watercolour painting based on Stonehenge, which we have looked at as part of our expedition. The children created a water colour background before adding black paper to create a Stonehenge silhouette. Hopefully we will be able to showcase their final pieces at a later date.
Thomas has been creating some fantastic watercolour paintings in his own time this week. Everyone in Year 6 thinks that they look amazing. Well done Thomas, keep it up!

Following our maths lesson today, we spun the ‘reflective protocol wheel’ and reflected on the lesson by noticing, wondering and questioning our understanding:
I am so proud of the Y6 children and the work they’ve been doing online. After the maths lesson today, the children reflected upon their learning by collaborating on a Jamboard. How impressive is this??!! Click the image and take a look…
Year 6 loved their hook lesson where we introduced our new English text Skellig! We looked at cut up pieces of the front cover and built up our prediction over each image. We then looked at the film cover to give us some more clues!
I was so impressed with the predictions and the links that were made to our previous learning. Both the in school learning and the home learning was AMAZING! Well done everyone!
Lots of research taking place this morning about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age! Who will use the key vocabulary we discussed yesterday?

Can you guess what our new expedition is?
