Today In expedition, we looked at the phases of the moon and how sunlight and the movement of the moon causes the different phases. We were hooked into the lesson using Oreo’s to show the different phases and even had a little treat at the end of the lesson. Well done everyone!
A huge shout out and well done to our first Crew Champion winners of this year. It was wonderful listening to all of the positive comments from crew leaders! A big well done to our HOWL point winners too!
This year, we are working hard to raise money to develop our reading for pleasure library so firstly, we would like to say a huge thank you for all your sponsors from the colour run which will go along way to helping us!
Secondly, we still need your help! We would love for you to help us design the library based on the space we have to use which is the foyer area near the hall.
Please design your ideal library and share your plans with Miss Knowles in person or at [email protected] This is for everyone across school to get involved in! Please send your plans by 7th October.
We can’t wait to see your fantastic ideas which will help us design the perfect library!
I absolutely love how much Blake is enjoying our space themed expedition. Every week he is going home and producing some amazing home learning that really is ‘out of this world’. Here are some photos to show the poster he produced, the wonderful star gazing he has done with his family and the fabulous flying rocket he made. You really are a super star Blake! x
Last week, we started our full timetable and I was blown away with the hard work the children showed in all their learning. Everyone has impressed me with their reading fluency as well as their retrieval and inference skills – using texts linked to our space exhibition has definitely engaged the children. We are also hooked into our class text ‘Spaceboy’ in our English lessons too. I can’t wait to continue with some more fabulous learning this week.
We would like you to a Y6 meeting on Tuesday 17th September @5pm. Year 6 is an incredibly important year and there is lots to consider! We will be sharing important information regarding secondary schools, SATS and the London residential.
The deadline for applying to secondary school is 31st October – you must apply for a secondary or your children risk not getting a place.
Please see some of the open evening details for some of the schools in our surrounding area. We would suggest you go along where you can to take a look around the schools! XP and Ash Hill Academy dates will be confirmed asap.
