Wednesday 9th September

Well done to our learning legend, Harry who channelled Have-A-Go Henry during his writing blastoff this afternoon. He thought carefully about his phonics to write not one but two fantastic sentences – well done, Harry!

In English this week, Y1 are looking at the wordless picture book, Journey which tells the story of a girl overcoming various obstacles on an adventure by drawing different types of transport with her magic crayon. We all enjoyed the story before setting off on our own mini adventure and working collaboratively to design vehicles with our very own magic pens!

Tuesday 8th September

Well done to today’s learning legend, Francesca who was a real Lightbulb Leo when she decided to cheer up one of her crew members with our worry monster. What great thinking, Francesca – keep it up!

Monday 7th September

Today we have started our blast off into our new expedition, asking the question: how have the changes in transport made our journeys safer?

Well done to Teddy who was our learning legend today. He has been making some really smart decisions about where to sit in the classroom so that he can produce his best work – great job!

Transition Weeks

What an amazing first two weeks in Class 10 learning all about the sun, moon and stars. It has been great to see everyone’s enthusiasm and the brilliant quality of work that has been produced from writing, dance, singing, art, maths and much much more. You can have a look at some of our best bits here.

Class 10’s Learning Legends

Another great week in Class 10 this week.

Tuesday’s Learning Legend was Nigella for an outstanding piece of art that was detailed and in proportion.

Wednesday’s Learning Legend was Leighton for his great effort and trying really hard to answer lots of questions.

Thursday’s Learning Legends were Macie and Rosie for the brilliant detail and hard work that they put into their mind maps.

Friday’s Learning Legend was Jamie for his brilliant effort with his English work and trying really hard with his handwriting.

A Little Something for the Weekend

Wow!  What a truly brilliant transition fortnight Class 6 have enjoyed.  They have blown us away with their ‘out of this world’ behaviours and attitudes every single day – well done to everybody!

Our Learning legend for today is Carter who has been trying his best everyday – great job!

This morning, Rowan became our first ‘Out of this World’ winner.  Not only has he tried his best with all his learning since we started back to school but his positive attitude has shone through and he has offered lots of kind and thoughtful critique to both his crew members and Mrs Dutton. What a star you’ve been, Rowan – congratulations!

We have enjoyed so much of the wonderful learning and artwork linked to our mini-expedition about the sun, moon and stars but the children have been most proud of their beautiful singing and we just had to share this with you all in the video below.

We hope everyone has a very well-deserved rest over the weekend and we can’t wait to see you all on Monday to do it all again – enjoy!

P. S. If you’d like to join in by singing along, the words are:

We hope you enjoy our wonderful singing… turn it up nice & loud:

Class 10’s Amazing Art Gallery

I have been so impressed with all of the art work produced in Class 10 over the last two weeks and it has made a great display. The children have used watercolours, chalk, oil pastels and pencil to create these fantastic pictures.

Thursday 3rd September

Well done to today’s learning legends, Layla and Harley.  Layla has been a real Motivated Mo in all her learning today whilst Harley has demonstrated his Stickability Stan aptitude when persevering with our tricky artwork.  Great job!

As part of our mini-expedition today, we have been finding out all about the phases of the moon and the children tested their fine motor control by producing some beautiful moon art using some very grown-up handwriting pens… they all tried their absolute best to be super neat!

Mrs Dutton

Wednesday 2nd September

It’s been a busy but enjoyable day in Class 6 today with more beautiful singing, teamwork games and fantastic art – well done to everyone!

Our Learning Legends today were Reef and Poppy who have both demonstrated real commitment to trying their best in all our learning activities today.  Thank you to both of you for your hard work!

A wet but fab Friday to end the week in Class 6

Well, the rain didn’t dampen our spirits in Class 6 today – Crew Dutton have ended the first week back with another FANTASTIC day … Well done everyone!

We spent our morning briefing agreeing our Crew Charter whilst this afternoon’s debrief saw appreciations by the children for our many stand-out crew members.  In Maths, the children practised their number ordering and in our mini-expedition English session we had a go at writing postcards to the boy on the farm in our story, Summer Sun Risin’.

We had another go at singing our special song from yesterday, this time adding actions to match the words.  The children enjoyed it so much and sounded so “wonderful” and “awesome” (their own critique!) that we are hoping to make it a special performance to share next week.  To help them prepare, the children have suggested that they rehearse over the weekend – please could parents/carers support them with this … we can’t wait to hear their beautiful voices again next week!

Our Learning Legend today was Harry who blew Miss O’Neil away with his out-of-this-world writing and his ‘ Can Do Colin’ attitude.  Great job, Harry!

The first week back to school is always tiring so everybody has earned themselves a lovely long weekend – enjoy all!  We look forward to welcoming you back to Class 6 on Tuesday.

Even the dreaded wet play hasn’t held Crew Dutton back!
