A huge shoutout to all of our HOWL point winners this week in 5/6. It’s lovely to see new faces winning each week!

This week year 5 and 6 had a visit from our very own trust expert – Geoff, our trust photographer! He worked with us on the types of angles, edits and stories we can create using photography.
Our collection of photographs tell the story…after all ‘a picture paints a thousand words!’
Well done to Sophie, Keira and Alan for taking part in Tuesday’s reading challenge. You all did a great job!
Just a reminder to all of Year 5/6 parents that the ‘Hearts for Doncaster’ dress up event will take place tomorrow. Please find a copy of the letter below for more information.

In our reading session today, we had a huge look through all of the books that are on our bookshelf. We spent a lot of time sorting through all of the different books and deciding which books we would like to read and which ones were wasted on our bookshelf. It was great to see the children looking through them all with so much enthusiasm and recommending the ones that they had read before to others. It was surprising how many children said that they didn’t realise some of these books were even on the shelf!
A big well done to Keira this week who has managed to achieve her black belt in martial arts. Well done and keep working hard!

This week, the children have been studying some of the photographs that have been taken during the pandemic. They then used these as inspiration to create and edit photos of their own. What’s amazing is how creative the children have been with some of the photographs and ideas they come up with. Take a look at some of their amazing work.
On Thursday this week, the children spent time editing and improving some of the photographs they had taken at the woods. They were given prompt sheets and had to try and edit it in a way that met the criteria. Well done to everyone, the photographs look amazing!
