An exciting visit from our very own expert!

This week year 5 and 6 had a visit from our very own trust expert – Geoff, our trust photographer!  He worked with us on the types of angles, edits and stories we can create using photography.

Our collection of photographs tell the story…after all ‘a picture paints a thousand words!’

Books, Books and More Books! 📚

In our reading session today, we had a huge look through all of the books that are on our bookshelf. We spent a lot of time sorting through all of the different books and deciding which books we would like to read and which ones were wasted on our bookshelf. It was great to see the children looking through them all with so much enthusiasm and recommending the ones that they had read before to others. It was surprising how many children said that they didn’t realise some of these books were even on the shelf!

Lockdown Inspired Photography 📷

This week, the children have been studying some of the photographs that have been taken during the pandemic. They then used these as inspiration to create and edit photos of their own. What’s amazing is how creative the children have been with some of the photographs and ideas they come up with. Take a look at some of their amazing work.

Walk to the woods!

Wow! What a lovely morning we had getting muddy down at Thorne Community Woods! The Y6s took some AMAZING photographs has part of our photography case study ans we can’t wait for you to see them!

Here is a sneak preview of the children taking their snapshots! Can you spot which angles they are using?
