It was our first week back at science club this week and we made our own wind socks. We learnt that the wind direction is the opposite to the way the sock is blowing.
National Skipping Week
This week is National Skipping week and as a school we will be taking part to see how many jumps we can do. Each day, the children will get the opportunity to take part and count how many jumps they can do and we will create a school total each day. Watch this video to find out more.
Want to take part at home?
School council will be getting involved to see who can skip or jump in the most unusual places. All you need to do to get involved is take a picture or video of you jumping or skipping somewhere unusual and send it into school. The deadline for entries is Tuesday 2nd May. Winners will be announced on Friday 5th May.
Happy skipping!
Sport photos! ⚽️🏉
Mr Ambler and myself are creating a PE display for school. In this display, we want to celebrate our sporting successes across school whether it is a tournament, PE clubs or outside teams.
Please pass them onto your teacher and we will add these as part of our celebration 😀
Thanks,
Mr Gerrard and Mr Ambler 😆
Ruby’s ‘Rocks’ at climbing!
What a great way to begin our new term by receiving this fantastic video! Having had a go at rock climbing at HWP, I know just how tricky it can be first hand. It is wonderful to see Ruby demonstrate great strength, both mentally and physically, to navigate what looks like a tricky climb complete with an overhang too! Go Ruby- Great work and thank you for sharing!

Y6 spellings
The children in Y6 are working incredibly in preparation for their SATs and we are super proud of them all. Over the last few weeks, they have been bringing home spellings linked to the rules and patterns they could be tested on in their SATs spelling paper. They have been working hard on these in class and we thank you for your support in helping them to learn them at home too.
Please find spellings to learn for the week after the Easter holidays listed below.

Y6 – Mrs Jackson’s maths group
Well done guys – you have blown me away this week with you hard-work and determination. I can already see that you are improving your arithmetic skills and also your understanding of how to tackle questions on the reasoning papers. Keep it up – you are all shining stars!

Y6 Aspirations Week
This morning Year 6 had a visit from Greg, a quantity surveyor. He told them all about the work he does and the skills he needs. Over the years, Greg has set up his own businesses; he got the children to think about what they enjoy and how this could be turned into a business idea. There were some fantastic ideas and we definitely have some budding entrepreneurs!
Y5/6 Arts and Craft Club
This week at arts and craft club, we continued with the theme of Easter. They showed real perseverance with something that looks quite simple but was actually really fiddly when it came to getting everything to stay stuck together! Well done guys – a fab club as always!
