Active Reading! 📖

Class 11 have also completed some active reading learning today, whereby we learnt all about conductors and insulators! This was a great way to build background knowledge for our next learning of CS1, but also improve on our learning skills!

Switching it up! 🔋💡

Today, Class 11 have been creating more circuits in preparation for their results section of their scientific report. They have included a switch this time to see how it would affect the flow of electricity in a simple series circuit. See below images of how Class 11 managed to get the circuits working!

Class 11 past two weeks! 📝🔢🌸🦴

Here is a little update of Class 11s first two week backs after Christmas, now that photos are full working!

In our hook week, we looked into our first Case Study, which will look at electricity and other fuels. We thought it was a great idea to walk around school and search for different electrical appliances. We found so many!

As part of our Case Study 2 hook day, we were looking at biology and more specifically flowers. We labelled the different parts of our artistic flowers and created some beautiful designs!

Next, we looked at the other part of Case Study 2, which will be looking into humans. We created some really fantastic x-rays, so lets hope these are the only x-rays for Class 11 this year!

This week we have started our Case Study fully and have developed our knowledge further of electricity and more specifically circuits. We worked well collaboratively and persevered to make the different circuits light up. Not only can we make circuits, we can name the components of a circuit!

Other great learning has taken place and more beautiful work has been produced, which we can’t wait to continue sharing!

On a personal note, thank you Class 11 for making me feel very welcome and a part of the Crew. Let’s keep being amazing and producing more wonderful work. Happy weekend, guys! 😆

Class 11 circuit making! 🔋💡

Today, Class 11 have been making their very own circuits, using electrical components that we have been learning about during Expedition. We absolutely loved making these, despite the challenge they offered. Some of us managed to get two bulbs working, whilst a few of us showed tremendous determination to get the switch working! See below for the fun we had:

Merry Christmas!

Wishing these beautiful little faces a very Merry Christmas!

What a busy week we’ve had in Class 11 this week- finishing off our expedition product, making our christmas fair product, designing wood cookies, christmas cards and calendars, as well as pulling off an outstanding performance at the church on Tuesday.

You all blow myself and Miss O’Neill away with your resilience to keep going, always eager to complete the next thing, wanting to do your best and make us proud, and proud you have certainly made us.

It has been an absolute privilege to teach you all this term. Thank you so much for making it so special, I’ve enjoyed every second with you all 🥰💚

Now, go off and enjoy your well earned break, make lots of wonderful memories with your families and friends. We will be here waiting to hear all about them in January.

Lots of love,

Mrs Faulding and Miss O’Neill xxx

Getting Christmas Fair ready!

Well done everyone for working hard yesterday in our little christmas factory to make our christmas fair product- festive pretzel rods!

If you managed to get your hands on some, we hope you enjoy them!

Y3/4 Christmas Costumes

Thank you to those that have fetched their costumes in to school so we can start to get prepared. If you haven’t already, please can you think about sending your child’s costume in this week so we can practise dress rehearsals etc.

Don’t forget that there is a limited amount of costumes in school that we can use so please speak to teacher’s if needed.

We are looking forward to sharing our Christmas production with you on Tuesday 13th December!

Thanks

Class 11’s christmas visitor! 🎄

We have a new member in our class- he’s small, dressed in red and left a trail of magical dust, its our new elf, Sparkle.
We are very excited to show him how amazing we are at Green Top! He will love being with us so much that we doubt he will want to go back to the North Pole.
We are going to blow him away by our abilities to work hard, be kind and get smart!
