Choir – Thorne Christmas Light Switch On!
Next Friday is the Christmas Light Switch on at Thorne Market Place. Choir/Young Voices Crew have been invited to go along to join with other children from other primary schools to sing songs and join in the festivities.
Please see the letter below for further details. Can all children that attend Choir/Young Voices let me know if you will be attending.

Y5/6 Crew Meeting / OOTW
Another fantastic Year 5 and 6 phase meeting this morning, full of shout outs and praises for hard work and acts of kindness. Well done everybody!

Y5/6 Science lecture at Trinity
This morning, Y5 and Y6 visited Trinity to listen to a science lecture linked to their expedition about space and forces. This gave them the opportunity to experience what it is like to give a lecture and present their learning. This will support them in preparing their own for our celebration of learning.
Well done everyone for being great ambassadors for Green Top, with excellent learning attitudes and behaviour whilst on our visit. I know you impressed Mr Taylor, Head of Science, with your subject knowledge.
Y6 SPaG site to support home learning

Y5/6: Community Meeting
Bikeability
A great time was had by all Y6 children who undertook the Bikeability program. Bikeability has equipped our children with the skills and confidence to ride safely on the roads. Thank you to the Morris and the team from Bikeability who have spent 2 weeks at Green Top developing these important life skills with our Y6 children.
Crew Ambler – Peer critique in writing
This morning, we have been busy critiquing our science investigation ready for our final write tomorrow morning. Shout to all of Crew Ambler and members of Crew Jackson for their collaborative work this morning. Well done all!
Crew Ambler – Friction Investigation
In this lesson we investigated friction. We learnt that friction is the force that acts against us when we move something heavy. We learnt that the rougher the surface the stronger the friction. For example we found that the car did not travel as far on the carpet compared to the table. This was because the carpet was rough therefore there was more friction acting against the car so it did not travel as far. The table was smoother as there was less friction which caused the car to travel further. Well done Crew Ambler a great science lesson!
