I would like to say a big well done to all of those Year 5 and 6 children who were able to bring in donations for our local food bank. We have managed to collect a fantastic amount which will hopefully go towards those who need it the most. Well done!

This afternoon, we enjoyed preparing for the reading assessments next week in the sunshine. The children worked together to retrieve answers from the text and confidently read sections aloud to each other.
Keep up the motivated attitude and superb reading stamina next week guys!
Y5/6 had the pleasure of meeting Ray today and learning about his inspirational story! Ray is almost 80 and has raised an incredible amount of money for a range of charities through his love of running! In the past, Ray ran 75 marathons in 75 days and even ran 150 miles without stopping! Wow!
We are going to support Ray on his upcoming 80th birthday by taking part in his next challenge – for 80 schools to run 80 miles! We’re very excited to get involved in running a mile but might need to put a bit of training first!
Today in Expedition, we looked into the RSPCA annual photography competition. We put all our skills and knowledge to the test and went on the hunt for animals and wildlife in our school playground. Of course we managed to capture some fantastic images.
I’m looking forward to seeing your images from home too!
I have posted a link onto our classroom with the examples from last years competition and further information about the competition! Well done everyone – great photography work today!
Yesterday afternoon, Y5/6 enjoyed a visit from our local key worker Mr Fenwick. Mr Fenwick works for the Humberside fire and rescue service and has worked throughout the pandemic. The children enjoyed listening all about his role throughout the pandemic and how he helped the local communities. Thank you!
A big shout out to Tilly for her beautiful story stone she created as part of reading week. It will look lovely on our reading display! 💫
A big shoutout and thank you to all the children who made a fantastic crew effort yesterday wearing a bright colour or dressed as someone who has inspired them throughout the pandemic. It was so lovely to hear the kind words the children used to share how proud they were of the people they were representing.
Also a big Thank you for all your donations towards the Hearts for Doncaster!

Here are some of our mini Key Workers! We had NHS staff, social workers, train and travel, teachers, college staff and many more – great tributes guys!
This morning, we enjoyed taking part in a reading cafe. We enjoyed reading our favourite books while having juice, sweets, biscuits and toast! What a fab way to immerse ourselves even more in to reading!
A huge shoutout to all of our HOWL point winners this week in 5/6. It’s lovely to see new faces winning each week!
