Well done to these children who won our Out Of This World award by demonstrating fantastic habits of work and learning; It was lovely to see so many parents attend our meeting this week too! Well done Y5/6- keep up the great work!
This morning, we have focussed on edit and improving our Science Investigations. At first, everyone became the teacher and we completed a silent gallery to help each other make corrections. Then, in pairs, we completed a more thorough critique. Great job guys, you have all done a great job supporting each other!
This morning was our first opportunity to come together as a phase crew since returning to school after the half-term. It was a great to hear what everybody had been learning in class this week and to celebrate a fantastic start to the term – well done everybody, keep up the fab work!
Special shout outs for those children receiving HOWLs certificates today, and to our OOTW champions too. Who will be celebrating next week?
Yesterday, we continued building our knowledge on forces and focussed on friction and how it helps objects to slow down and grip surfaces.
The children discussed which variables we would change and keep the same to ensure the investigation was accurate. They then put their cars to the test to measure the difference they travelled on different surfaces! Another great science lesson guys – Well done!
So far this week, we’ve been enjoying building our knowledge of Air and Water resistance. We have conducted different experiments to see how resistance affects different objects and why this happens.
Yesterday, we worked in groups to create our own parachutes and we tested to see which one would be the safest parachute. I have been blown away by the great use of scientific vocabulary too! Excellent effort everyone – you’ll be experts in time for our lectures!
Another Thursday, another fabulous assembly for Years 5 and 6! Well done to all our HoWLs and OOTW winners and thank you to the parents who were able to join us.
A reminder that Accelerated Reader minutes are being counted so keep up that practice at home!
A huge shout out and well done to our Postcard winners! You have all done an excellent job of demonstrating our HoWLs and being great role models and stewards in our learning environment! Super proud of you all!
