A massive shout out to our HOWL point winners and the Out of the World Winners this week. You have all impressed the adults in your crews by being kind, working hard and getting smarter.
Well done Crew Ambler on still leading Accelerated Reader in our phase; the competition is getting closer now! Huge congratulations to Crew Mumby for winning both attendance this week and the HOWLs point spin the wheel – enjoy your extra playtime guys!

Who will be celebrating this week?
On Friday, at Arts and Craft Club, we had a fantastic time creating 3D pop-up Easter chick cards. I was very impressed with Oscar who worked so hard to complete his image of Captain Tom Moore from the Little People, Big Dreams book series.
Well done everyone – we will continue with more Easter crafts next Friday. Mrs Jackson x
Happy Red Nose Day! It is great to see so many of you dressed in red to show your support today. Thank you for all your generous donations. The school council have one last challenge for you! Over the weekend, we wonder how many different red things you can find.
You could have a look around your house or even venture outside on a walk. Count how many different red things you can find to share with your crew on Monday. You could even take some pictures or draw what you can see.
On Tuesday, we investigated whether height affected the distance that you can jump. We predicted that the taller you are the further that you could travel. However, after carrying out the experiment and using tape measures to measure the distance, we found that it didn’t matter how tall you was and was surprised to see that some of the shorter people in our Crew jumped the furthest.
It was lovely to see science club sharing thier learning at today’s coffee afternoon. Thank you to everyone who came and got involved with the investigations.

Today, science club have been practising and preparing their investigations to share at tomorrows coffee afternoon. It would get if you could join us to see what they have been learning about.
This morning, to kick start Science Week, we investigated our fingerprints and what they are used for. We identified that everyone’s fingertips are different even though they can sometimes look very similar.
We then used lead to record our finger prints and observe what patterns we could see in them. There was lots of Arch, Loop and Whorl prints in our Crew.

Today marks the start of British Science Week and we can’t wait to get involved when we get back to school next week. Each crew will take part in a fascinating fingerprint investigation led by the school council. We will also have science club attending the coffee afternoon (Wednesday 15th) to share some of the exciting things we get up to at science club.
In the meantime, there are a few challenges you can get involved in at home and bring into school next week.
For Tuesday – Create a timeline of scientists through history. What are some of the greatest discoveries and who made them?
For Wednesday – Invent like a Victorian. Channel your inner inventor and design something to make life at home easier.
For Thursday – See and Eat Vegetables. Investigate the connection between how vegetables grow and how they end up on your plate.
You could also find your own investigations to try! Send any pictures of you being a scientist to your phase leaders. We can’t wait to see what you get up to!
At Young Voices, we had the privilege to sing ‘Proud’ with award winning singer Heather Small. The song was recorded during rehearsals on the day and has been made into a single. The CD is now available to purchase on the link below. All proceeds will go towards the Young Voices Charity ‘Place2Be’ which is a charity that supports Children’s mental health.
