Maths Shout Outs!

Look who ah been caught working super hard in Maths. These boys have thoroughly enjoyed challenging themselves to represent numbers using their knowledge of tens and ones. They also found lots of different combinations to represent the numbers drawing on their previous knowledge.

Doncaster Stories Bookbag

Evening everyone,

Tonight the children have brought home some wonderful resources provided by the Children’s University to encourage and promote a love of reading. In the packs is a reading map which should be ticked every time the children read, whether it be to an adult or simply for pleasure, as well as lots of fabulous stationary for the children to keep. Please click on the link below to watch a video which will explain the programme in more detail.

As you all know, reading early and well is one of the most important skills we can develop in our youngsters and this scheme is an awesome way to encourage this.

If you have any questions please ask.

A bug shout out to Ezra who has already started his reading map by reading Dear Zoo to his grown ups. I am super proud of your learning attitude Ezra. What a way to end the week.

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside!

The children and adults in F2 had such a fantastic day today at the beach. The weather was on our side and we had a lovely play in the sand while enjoying a bit of sunshine. We were Lucky enough to visit the lifeboats in Cleethorpes and learn all about the history of lifeboats and how they keep everyone safe at the beach. We ended our lovely day with a delicious ice cream before coming back. A huge thank you to all the adults that came to help us today, without your help these experiences would be hard to do for the children.

Cleethorpes

We are super excited about our trip to Cleethorpes tomorrow.

Please ensure your child brings a backpack to school for their lunch and belongings. A school packed lunch will be provided for all that need one. Please wear clothes suitable for the weather. Extra layers/anorak/sunhat/drink etc can be kept in your child’s backpack.

If your child would like an icecream then please send either £1.50 for a small icecream with a flake or £1 for a rocket ice lolly.

No extra toys/buckets/spades will be needed as we will take some school toys with us to enjoy on the beach. This will help us to keep belongings to a manageable amount to carry with us for the day.

Doors will open at the normal time of 8:30. Please ensure children arrive on time so we can make it to the coaches promptly.

Thank You,

F2 Staff

Phonics drop in

Just a little reminder that on Wednesday there will be a phonics drop in for all parents who have children in EYFS and year 1. If your child is older but you know that they still find phonics useful then please still come along if you can. It will help you to know how to support your children with their phonics learning and give you an insight into what we teach your children in these sessions.

There are 2 sessions; one at 9am and one at 3.15pm. They will be the same presentation so you only need to attend one of them and they won’t last longer than 30 minutes.

We look forward to seeing you there
