Class 6 superstars

A huge well done to these three superstars who blew me away today with their fantastic learning habits and out of school achievements. Bobby, Thea and Logan have all listened carefully to my instructions today and because of this had great successes in their learning. Bobby also brought his football medal and trophy to show us.

Awesome job guys. Keep up the good work x

Class 6’s visit to Weston Park Museum

What a wonderful day we have had today on our visit to Weston Park Museum in Sheffield. We took part in an awesome history/art workshop where we sketched buildings from Sheffield’s past then used these to create screen print ‘tiles’ to create a colourful banner, and explored the wonderfully interesting artefacts on display within the museum. The children behaved marvellously and were a real credit to our Green Top Crew. Check out the photo gallery below.

Let’s hope Y2 have just as good a day on their trip tomorrow.

Small acts of kindness

I was super proud of Shae and Adam today when they showed just how wonderfully kind they are.

When one of her classmates erupted in chicken spots during our Kixx session this afternoon, Shae showed true empathy by saying how sorry she felt that he was having to miss out on our PE session and Adam showed outstanding generosity by not only sharing his birthday cake with our class, but making sure the pieces that were left over were given to all the teachers in KS1!

Our Be Kind HoWL in two wonderful little packages!

What was school like in the past?

A huge thanks to all our family members who came to our family learning event this morning. The children were very interested to find out the answers to questions such as…what was your favourite lesson?, what did you do at playtime? and what school did you go to?.

A special thanks to class 6’s experts, Eva’s mummy, Reeva’s mummy, Thea’s mummy and Ezra’s Nanna (and Hero) who gave us great answers to our questions.

National Numeracy Day – 18th May

We are looking forward to celebrating National Numeracy Day on Wednesday 18th May!

Maths is all around us and in the run up to National Numeracy Day, I would love for you to take some photos of you that link to maths! Maybe it will be a picture of you using money to pay for something in the shop, maybe it will be of how many steps you have walked in a day, or maybe it will be of you practising your maths skills!

How creative can you be finding maths around your home and in the community? Please send all of your photographs to [email protected] so that I can make a video to celebrate maths!

Also, check out the official website (link below) because there are lots of fun activities that you can do with your children!
