This week the children have been excited to hook into their new expedition! We are excited to answer the question ‘What happens where the sea meets the shore?’ We have have enjoyed creating an under the sea look to our classrooms and are looking forward to talking more about our seaside and holiday experiences next week! Postcards and photographs are welcome!
Here are some of our moments and beautiful work caught on camera!
Jake, in Year 6, approached the school and his crew with wanting raise awareness around MND. Being a big fan of Leeds Rhinos, he has been inspired by Rob Burrows’ bravery and the superb effort of his ex-team mate, Kevin Sinfield. As a crew, we have planned a MND day for Friday 19th April for the whole school.
We are encouraging all children to wear something white, yellow or blue for a small donation that will go directly to the MND association. We will also be holding a coffee and cake morning in our school hall, all of our parents and carers are welcome to join us from 8:45. I can’t believe the amount of wonderful character spoons we had fetched into school as part of our World Book Day competition! The creativity and effort that has gone into each and every one is amazing!
The Learning Council judged the spoons this morning but it was such a hard choice that we have ended up with 8 winners instead of 4!
Watch this space to see the winning spoons tomorrow …
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended our COL yesterday! The children were super excited to share their learning from the stories they had explored across all 3 case studies. The children showcased their work beautifully teaching the adults how to sing and sign ‘Goldilocks and the 3 bears!’ The children presented books to our day care early years settings and to Jenny from Thorne library. We are so proud of how much money the children have raised to buy books for children to enjoy and to share their learning with the wider world. The money will also support the development of new reading areas and our expeditionary curriculum! Thank you to all adults who kindly donated to help the children raise a whopping £1800 pounds!
The children enjoyed time in their classrooms with their adults taking part in many of our learning activities from this term. Here are some of our snapshots.
Congratulations to Archie, Dominik and Olivia for being awarded Crew champions this week ! Your HOWLS and achievements in phonics are just a few of those reasons!
A huge well done to Romeo, Addison and Mikayla for racking up the winning number of HOWL points this week! What great crew members!
A special shout out to Isabella, Noah, Paisley and Mavis for being avid readers at home this week! We are so very proud of you all!
The children in reception made a marvellous effort to dress up as their favourite book characters for World book day! The children enjoyed drawing their favourite characters, reading their favourite stories and writing their very own story books!
This week in reception the children have been building the numbers 9 and 10 . We have been thinking about how we can do this in many ways and have been reading, writing and adding smaller numbers together to make 9 and 10! Here are some of our snapshots!
A throw back to a couple of weeks ago when we had an awesome EYFS disco. Lots of blurry action shots I’m afraid! The children and grown ups couldn’t stop busting a move!
