Reception Reading Books

This week the children have all received a reading book. It is the expectation that the children will read their book at home and this is recorded in the yellow reading record that came in their reading pack. This will support the children in their phonics skills and help to improve their reading fluency.

Books will be changed on a Tuesday and a Friday as long as it is evident in their reading record that they have read the book. If you need any support with anything reading please ask a member of the F2 Team.

Enjoy!

EYFS Presentation of Learning

EYFS RED CARPET EVENT AND FILM PREMIERE

Next week, on Wednesday 13th November the EYFS children would like to invite their grown-ups (maximum 2 per child) to their presentation of learning for our Expedition ‘How do we show we care?’.

The Ash Tree Road entrance will be open from 1.45 pm for grown-ups to get refreshments before the children come through. Children will then come to the hall to share their learning with you. The children cannot wait for you to see all their hard work!

Please can children come to school in their smart/party clothes.

EYFS visited the children’s hospital!

As part of our expedition learning we were invited into DRI to see Katie the Matron and the wonderful work and environment the staff there provide for their patients. Vincent and Elodie represented the school and I am so proud of them for their excellent behaviour and awesome thoughts and suggestions on how to improve the children’s ward. Elodie thought more princesses and phonics sounds were needed and Vincent wanted to see more superhero’s and dinosaurs. Great suggestions guys!
We are looking forward to being able to donate the money raised this term to the children’s ward in developing their much needed parents room.

EYFS Sponsored Walk

On Wednesday we had such a fabulous time doing our sponsored walk to raise funds for DRI. The children were dressed as Superheroes. . . with kindness being our superpower of the day!

It was a bit soggy and a bit chilly but the children did not let this put them off! Well done everyone for being Greentop superheroes!!

The children enjoyed a game of beans in the hall today thinking about different ways in which they can jump and balance! The children partnered up to give and listen to instructions creating their own jumping obstacle course.
