On Tuesday 4th December we will be holding a ‘Blue Day’ as a tribute to Alan. Children and staff will be wearing blue items of clothing. We will be collecting donations for the new Alan Finley Trust, which we hope to set up to support all families with purchasing school uniform in the years to come. Donate whatever you can.
I would like to invite you all to a small ceremony at 3.15, where Alan’s family will join us. In this ceremony we, as a community, will say goodbye to Alan in a very fitting way.
Alan’s funeral will take place at 2.20pm on Thursday 6th December at Rose Hill, Cantley. Green Top will remain open for the full day with only a small group of staff attending the funeral. Alan’s last words to me were, be strong and keep the school running. To see and hear children happy at Green Top on the 6th December will be another tribute to him.
Finally, thank you for all the support and tributes to Alan, it certainly is helping the staff and children get through this difficult time.
