We had a really exciting re-hook into our castles expedition at the beginning of the week by testing materials to see if they were dragon proof. We began by building castles from different materials – paper, wood, plastic and cardboard. We discussed the properties of the materials and whether each one would stand the test of the dragon’s fiery breath. The children used some excellent vocabulary to describe how each material would behave if it caught fire. We then took some of our creations out to our XP Outdoors area and Mr Kershaw played the part of an angry dragon! Who knew learning could be so much fun?
