Last week in Nursery the children were learning how to add using concrete objects. The children started to recognise the symbols + and = . They began reading number sentences and talking about amounts and knowing that when we add the number will always get bigger. The children worked so hard and the grown ups were so impressed with how confident the children quickly became in adding two amounts.
