F2 Phonics – ai ee igh oa

This week we have been learning the long vowel digraphs ai, ee and oa  (as in rain, keep  and road)

We have also learned the trigraph ‘igh’ (as in light)

digraph = 2 letters making one sound

trigraph = 3 letters making one sound

We have been reading and writing words and sentences containing these sounds.

There are lots of free online resources available to support this learning.

    Jack has recognised lots of digraphs in his reading this week. He picked out the ee in “tree” tonight and was really proud of himself.

    Rukseyaa practicing phonics she was read these word in reading book feet , said
    And she can read boat,coat , high night chain.

    Robyn has just been telling me that she’s been learning the ‘ai’ sound. She told me how to correctly spell ‘rain’, ‘pain’ and ‘train’.

    Aoife has been telling me she’s been learning about digraphs and trigraphs this week she explained them both to me and has been pointing them out in our writing and reading
