It was so lovely to see all the children dressed up and excited for our little trip to our local Methodist Church! We talked about what it was like for the children in the 1940’s and experienced a little bit of what it would have been like to be evacuated from their homes and be away from family and friends.
We heard two stories from Mrs Raper, about her own mother and mother in law and how different their experiences were as children in WW2. The children then wrote some really lovely postcards home to let their adults know they were safe and where they were living and also discussed what evacuees would have had to take with them in their trusty suitcase!
I was so happy and proud also of our lovely class as they displayed such lovely manners and learning attitudes out of school. Well done!
