A huge thanks to Mr Kenny who came into school today to tell us a little about the history of Thorne – in particular Peel Hill – and the castle that used to stand there. We walked with him to see the site of the castle on Church Street and even climbed to the top of the Motte.
He was very impressed by the children’s knowledge of historic castles. I couldn’t be prouder of how the children behaved.
