This week in nursery the children have been exploring the festival of Chinese New Year . The children expired the text ‘Dragons in the city’ and worked collaboratively to create a dragon for the dragon dance! The children practiced their ribbon dancing to Chinese music and talked about how different it is to Indian dancing. The children enjoyed talking about the lucky charms and began talking about their favourite Chinese foods. We can’t wait to explore festivities more this week!

The children in nursery worked together to create e-safety posters to display in their class as a reminder of how to stay safe online. I was very impressed by their knowledge and understanding. Here are our top tips:
“Ask an adult to go on the internet. ” Katie
“If something new up tell an adult. ” Carter
“Don’t tell someone your name. ” Heidi
“Tell mummy and daddy if asked for money ” Heidi
Stay safe everyone
Last week as part of our theme learning ‘How can we celebrate our wonderful world?’ the children explored the festival of Eid. They watched a cbeebies documentary, explored the text ”The runaway Chappatti’ and then began to make their own. Every child made their own chappati with our special guest sonia. She made delicious daal for us to try with our chappati and left more for us to make in the afternoon. Thank you Sonia! Please come back soon !

Year 5 have been working really hard this week, finding percentages of amounts.
I have set a little challenge to see who really understands it. a Whopping 50 house points for anybody that completes 🙂 good luck!
Find the following percentages of amounts.
10 % of 170=
25% of 200=
35% of 500=
12% of 240=
15% of 300=
Challenge.
Use what you know about finding percentages of amounts to solve the problems.
Challenge 1:
200 children went on holiday.
10% of the children went to Wales.
25% of the children went to Scotland.
How many more children went to Scotland than went to Wales?
Challenge 2:
Jack has £400
He spends 35% of his money on a new bike.

How much does Jack spend on his new bike?
