Street Life Museum Hull

Class 5 have really enjoyed the Street Life Museum today. There were so many interesting modes of transport to learn about and explore. We even managed to do some sketching and research while we were there.

Thank you to the adults that helped today you were brilliant and your help is very much appreciated.

Thank you

Magna

Class 10 loved exploring Magna today! They visited the: water, fire, air and earth areas and then participated in a rocks and volcanoes workshop after lunch. We all had lots of fun!

Marvellous Maths

C13 have continued to blow me away with their amazing learning attitudes! Again, they have been fantastic ‘Motivated Moes’ in maths when working with addition and subtraction. Everyone chose their own level of questions and worked on fluency, reasoning, problem solving at their own pace. They then checked their own answers using a calculator and were able to use their ‘Choosing Checking Changing Charlie’ skills to amend any answers!

A brilliant first day back!

Wow! Class 13 came back after the holidays with an amazing learning attitude! They enjoyed maths yesterday where they chose their own activities to practise addition and subtraction. There were some great learning legends and they all had to be Stickability Stans and Choosing Checking Changing Charlies!

The children were so enthusiastic throughout and were extremely proud when they had completed some of the challenging activities! Well done Class 13 you made me so proud!

Year 4’s Learning visit to Magna

Yesterday, year 4 visited Magna to learn more about volcanoes, rocks and some of the key properties of our world. They had the opportunity to create and erupt some more volcano to explore how they shape the earth and create land.

The classes particularly enjoyed the water and air zones and were blown away by the size of the steel works and Magna’s fire tornado. They immersed themselves fully in the experience and were a credit to the school.

Arithmagon Challenge.

Just because I know how much you all enjoyed these today… Here is an arithmagon challenge for you to do at home…

50 house points for anybody who completes them 🙂

Home learning

I love seeing the children’s creations when working on their home learning; it’s also lovely to see and hear about the interesting facts children have researched in relation to theme in books at home.

Well done to all of the above children for sharing your home learning- £100 class cash each for showing exploring Eddie and have a go Henry characteristics!

Amazing first day back

What a fabulous first day back we have had in class 19! The children have worked so hard today and I am really proud of them. Today in English we have been focusing on our comprehension skills and using evidence from the text to support our answers. The children worked really hard in groups sharing their answers with supporting evidence!

Wow! Class 8 you have been super stars!

What an amazing first morning back we have had in class 8.  The children have worked so hard working collaboratively in different teams, in pairs and then working independently in their own books.  They have some amazing reflecting about the metacognition colour for the start and end of the lesson, being able to explain why they think they are each colour.

Get ahead in your learning!

I hope you’re all having a great half term!

Check out this clip all about writing formality- this will help you in your writing of your formal letter to Michael’s school.
