Growth Mindset

Year 5/6 have had a challenging week this week with assessments. Class 14 have been discussing what makes a good learner. We have been working on our growth mindset to help us to develop the skills we need achieve our goals, stay positive and believe in ourselves. Skills that are often hard to use when we find something difficult.

Here is the display they have started to build today…

(Jayden and Myles looking very proud of their silhouettes!)

Identifying right angles!

This morning, class 10 have been identifying right angles within shapes. They have been working really hard using tools to help them and they have even been able to explain whether or not other angles are greater than or less than a right angle.

Super work class 10!

Well done year 1 and year 2 for completing your 2 mile sponsored walk this morning. You were a credit to the school with outstanding behaviour and energy! The sun shining was just perfect weather for a walk.  The children enjoyed a drink and treat when they returned to school.

Thank you to all the family members that walked with us, your support is very much appreciated.

Big improvers in arithmetic

Cohen and Archie have made huge improvements in maths! We’re very proud of their Can-do Colin attitudes. So proud that we thought they should pay Miss Salter a visit.

Geometry fun!

This afternoon we have been focusing on the names and properties of 2-D and 3-D shapes. The children have enjoyed learning new vocabulary and sharing this in their discussions. I have challenged the children to identify 3-D shapes within their homes and to count the number of verticies the shapes have ready to share tomorrow!

Dividing in maths

We have had a go at dividing today using cubes. It was tricky at first but we have been able to share equally and understand dividing. Keep working hard class 5 we can do this!

You have all been Have a go Henry’s

Miss Hilton

Sophia the super star!

A huge well done to Sophia who has been amazing today in our reading lesson. Sophia has been a can-do Colin and has really worked on her reflection skills to be able to move her learning forward this year and this has been evident in today’s learning, allowing Sophia to achieve green standard!. I am really proud of you Sophia, keep it up!

Fabulous out of school achievements

It was lovely to hear all about the fabulous out of school activities our children have been doing.  Ruby brought her swimming badges to show us and Rosie, Amy and Leila brought photos from their dancing show to share.  Well done girls, keep up the hard work!
