As part of our theme ‘How do you think we will evolve?’ Y6 visited The Deep in Hull to look at how animals have evolved over time. We also took part in a workshop learning all about fossils and learning lots of new information ready to take back to school.Â
The nursery children had so much fun learning Indian dance routines, dressing up and telling stories through dance and music. We had special visitor Dola come to teach us. She was very impressed with how all children joined in and how beautiful behaviour was.
Last week in nursery the children became creative as they turned their classroom into a Carnival to celebrate colour! We have had an amazing week welcoming our new children , watching them grow new friendships and settle into Greentop life. Here are some of the fab areas our children have been working in .
This week in nursery the children have started to celebrate their learning experiences with each other. Such beautiful conversations about our wonderful world
Look at these maths super stars who smashed their maths challenges today! They were applying their converting measurement skills to reasoning and problem solving and they were all ace! I am so proud of their resilient attitude!
The class was split in half to look at an image of the market town in Pompeii and imagine what they could see, hear, smell, touch and feel and how they could then describe these using more powerful adjectives. We created two very impressive words banks which the children openly shared and used for their writing opportunity!
The children were so engrossed in their learning in theme that they loved fact finding about new volcanoes on the Chromebooks! Here they are in action.
To help class 9 improve their writing even more this week I gave them a challeng to identify and find features within our step 9 rubric. They had to work with a partner to find all examples in the WAGOLL text and answer some independent questions as their exit ticket. They all did a brilliant job!
