Year 6 are loving G Block – their art, French and arithmetic skills are improving on a weekly basis!
Look at these maths super stars who smashed their maths challenges today! They were applying their converting measurement skills to reasoning and problem solving and they were all ace! I am so proud of their resilient attitude!
The class was split in half to look at an image of the market town in Pompeii and imagine what they could see, hear, smell, touch and feel and how they could then describe these using more powerful adjectives. We created two very impressive words banks which the children openly shared and used for their writing opportunity!
The children were so engrossed in their learning in theme that they loved fact finding about new volcanoes on the Chromebooks! Here they are in action.
To help class 9 improve their writing even more this week I gave them a challeng to identify and find features within our step 9 rubric. They had to work with a partner to find all examples in the WAGOLL text and answer some independent questions as their exit ticket. They all did a brilliant job!
Y5/6 have launched their E Safety Competition to design a set of rules that will help everyone to stay safe online. A prize will be awarded to the design that is the most creative and informs everyone how to stay safe. Are you up to the challenge?
Well done Class 8 for producing some amazing posters showing all your learning in theme this week on the importance of safety when riding your bike. Look out for the posters displayed in the Key Stage 1 corridor and around school.
Keep up the hard work Class 8!
Mrs Jackson
Class 10 love singing the perimeter song! It is helping them remember how to calculate perimeter. Ask them this evening to sing it to you!
Class 10 have been looking at a WAGOLL text this morning and identifying features from their RUBRICs. The children enjoyed highlighting to show which feature was which and some children even up levelled the examples! All this hard work is definitely going to be evident in their touch downs next week!
