This morning in class 5 we have ordered the pages from our class text Going Places. We worked in collaborative groups to order the story so far and discussed what happens first, next and last.
After that we walked around the other groups work and checked their work to make sure our friend had the correct order too.
Great work class 5! Keep working on those listening skills.

In maths this week we are focusing on position and direction. We have been getting ourselves warmed up by dancing to the cha cha slide to help us remember our left and right. Weβve had lots of fun mastering the dance moves and following the instructions. We are much more confident with our left and right now!
Well done class 5, keep up the super work.

Class 5 have had a great discussion about a character from our class text Going Places. We discussed with a partner what we thought she might be feeling, thinking or saying. When we all came back to the carpet we could share our ideas with the rest of the class and give reasons why.
Great work class 5. Keep up the good work I am really proud of you.

weβve had a fantastic session doing tag rugby this afternoon. We practiced lots of different skills and had so much fun. Weβve worked in teams and used our special awareness and hand eye coordination. The children were amazing at encouraging each other and congratulating one another when they did well and it was so lovely to see. I hope we get to do more in the future.

Well done to all the boys and girls in Year1 who celebrated Children in Need day 2020 with a fantastic display of dots and Pudsey bear ears π
The children showed great empathy and understanding when discussing some of the ways that children around the world might need help and they shared fabulous ideas to help one another too!
Till next year, Pudsey…
Hello Year 1
Just a couple of reminders for Monday.
On Monday we are doing a tag rugby session in the afternoon for 30 minutes so you will all need to come in your PE kit on that day and this be be used as our weekly PE session.
Also on Monday we are wearing odd socks in support of anti- bullying week. You still need to wear your PE kit but you can wear some crazy socks over the top. We cant wait to see you all.
Have a fun and safe weekend!

Today in class 5 we remembered all the brave soldiers that have lost their lives in war to help keep us safe. We watched videos of other children talking about remembrance and what it is and we watched the service from the Cenotaph and watched the royal family laying wreaths for our fallen heroβs.
the children were all very mature about this subject and we had some great discussion about the 2 minutes silence being a quiet thank you to the soldiers from all of us.
I am very proud of you all class 5, well done!
Lest we forget. 11AM fell in the middle of playtime today but it didn’t stop Year1 from pausing to show their respect with a 2minute silence. Well done to all the boys and girls who have shared some wonderful reflections about why Remembrance Day is so important.
Today class 5 have been practising their phase 4 tricky words by writing them on the carpet in chalk. We had 2 minutes to see how many we could write and we were brilliant at it. Keep up the hard work class 5. I love it.
