How many astronauts do you know?
As part of National Space Week, why don’t you choose an astronaut to research? You could make a poster or a fact file about your chosen astronaut.
You could even listen to the story of Tim Peake, Neil Armstrong and Mae Jemison. Did you know these Big Dreams, Little People book are quizzable on Accelerated Reader?
Have you seen these beautiful newly curated areas at Green Top – awesome spaces for students to learn and play in!
On Monday, students met a few of the Doncaster Rovers first team players and were able to have photos and get autographs from the players. Students asked questions about the life of a professional athlete and the journey that the players have been on playing for different clubs. It was great to hear the players speak about our character traits and how these character traits link to sport.
Then on Tuesday students visited Hill House school to listen to Olympic gold medal GB hockey player Sam Queck. Her experience as an athlete and the ups and downs she has faced really helped our students to understand that if you want something in life you have to work hard for it! Students were able to have a photo and ask questions to Sam at the end – they even held her gold medal.

Thank you to all parents and grandparents who attended family learning this afternoon. It was lovely to see the children so engaged with the digital art and trying really hard to get their heads around the new app! Although it was tricky to begin with, I thought they all did an incredible job with it!
Take a look at some of the final designs!
Well done to Willow and Myles who have been completing some home learning this week. Willow has made a war poster and Myles has been practising his spellings!

Well done to Imogen for her successes outside of school. Irish dancing is no easy style but Imogen and her dance team have had national success recently. They are now looking forward to competing at the World Championships in the coming year. It is always great to share extra curricular achievements with our crews and our wider school community. Well done Imogen, we look forward to hearing all about how you get on!
