Beautiful Work This Week

Here’s a selection of beautiful work from across the XP Trust from this week. To read about other stories from across the XP Trust, visit xptrust.org.

Every year, our friends and partners at EL Education invite schools across the world to take part in #BetterWorldWeek – a celebration of student work that makes a meaningful difference in the world.

Just like at EL, at XP this isn’t a one-off event – it’s the work we do every day. But this week gives us a moment to pause, reflect, and share the incredible ways our students have stepped up.

In the last year, they have:

  • Hosted tea parties to tackle loneliness
  • Campaigned for safer streets around their schools
  • Created environmental art with purpose
  • Challenged inequality through powerful public products
  • Brought communities together

…and that’s just the beginning.

You can read all about their beautiful, purposeful work here:

XP Outdoors – Year 5 Tent Race!

This morning, Year 5 took part in the exciting XP Outdoor challenge Green Top’s Tent Race! The race was all about Crew building, speed, commutation and a lot of fun.

Each team raced to put up a Tipi tent as quickly as possible, squeezed inside to show it could hold everyone, then took it down and dashed to the next setup point. There, they worked together again to pitch a second tent, made sure the whole team passed through it—and then it was a full-speed home run to the finish line!

Class 8 self portraits

Today, class 8 have had their first taste of drawing portraits. We struggled with trying to get the proportions right but everyone tried really hard with the shape of the head and the facial features. We can’t wait to do some portraits of monarchs later on in the week!

Crew Spetch – Job roles in the mine

This morning in our history lesson, we investigated the different job roles in the mine and discussed what life would have been like for miners.

We used our new knowledge of the different job roles to create freeze frames. The children loved this and I was really impressed with the creativity of their freeze frames! What a great discussion based lesson, it was great to hear all of your wonderful ideas!
