We had a fantastic day at Magna today! We got the chance to explore the building and experience its fire, water, air and earth exhibitions as well as completing a hands-on workshop all about rocks and volcanoes. We also got to experience ‘The Big Melt,’ which showcased the start up of the furnace at the old steelworks, as well as finishing off the day on the brilliant outdoor play park!
The children have written letters to King Charles, which we will be sending to Buckingham Palace this week. Great improvement in your writing guys…well done!
We are joining in with Pyjamarama on Thursday 22nd May! Help us celebrate a love of reading by coming to school in your pyjamas!
Pyjamarama is an event run by BookTrust which is the UK’s largest children’s reading charity. They support millions of children in having access to books. If you would like to donate please click the link to donate.
Class 8 have been fantastic today, measuring different objects in the classroom using rulers and tape measures. There was a focus on measuring accurately but then they were extended to order them from shortest to tallest and vice versa! Great maths today guys…well done!
Our Year 6 children have been nominated by Plover to take part in the ice bucket challenge to raise money for MIND UK.
We will be completing the ice bucket challenge on Tuesday 20th May during the afternoon. Your child/ren will need their PE kit to change into to be able to take part! We would also suggest a carrier bag to put any wet clothes in.
If you would like to donate, please click the link: https://www.mind.org.uk/donate/
