Just want to say a big thank you to sculpture club. They were fab at listening and learning about the different paper sculpture techniques this week! Check out what they have done below. A few more techniques to show them next week, but they have been set a challenge to think about what they’d like to start to make. Ensuring they apply some of these techniques to create something 3D!

Young Voices – We have arrived! 🎤
Year 5 Photography Club
Today we have had 2 challenges to complete. The first one was taking photographs of things close up and then trying to guess what they were. Can you work any of them out?
Our next challenge was to take pictures of something beginning with each letter of the alphabet. I wonder if you could have a go over half term?
KS1 Story Club
Another fantastic story club this week. We enjoyed reading about Winnie the Witch celebrating the Chinese New Year and we found out about the different animals which represent each year in the Chinese tradition. Chinese New Year is going to be celebrated on 10th February this year and it will the year of the dragon! We also enjoyed making ourselves some Chinese lanterns just like we saw in our story. Well done boys and girls!

KS1 Story Club
Another Thursday and another fantastic story to explore! This week we have read Tadpole’s Promise, which tells of the unlikely romance and unfortunate demise of a tadpole and caterpillar.
The children have enjoyed thinking of their own unlikely animal pairing, making use of their new learning about animals from different countries and their habitats. What fabulous drawings to illustrate your own romantic tales, KS1 – well done!
Year 5 Photography Club
We have had a great afternoon looking at perspective and turning ourselves into giants or ants! Have a look at some of our favourite pictures.
KS1 Story Club
In story club today, we have enjoyed reading the book ‘Lost and Found’ by Oliver Jeffers which tells the tale of an unexpected friendship between a boy and a penguin from the South Pole.
As KS1 are learning about different animals from different places in the world, this was the perfect starting point for us to imagine and draw ourselves with our own animal friend. Children followed the style of Oliver Jeffers and drew themselves with an animal of their choice from one of the places we have studied so far.
Well done boys and girls – a great start to our new after-school club!
