Nursery: What happens when we celebrate our birthday?

In expedition this week, we are looking at what happens when it’s our birthday. What might it look, feel and sound like? We have enjoyed signing happy birthday in British Sign Language, used our fine motor skills to snip wrapping paper and tape to wrap presents to gift to our friends and enjoyed a feeely bag lesson to explore things we would enjoy on our birthday.

The children have also been extra busy creating their product ready to send to our wonderful Comms Team at XP to print some very special hand made birthday cards.

Nursery: book & a biscuit/ toy sale event!

On Wednesday 1st October Nursery will be opening the doors from 8.30 – 9.30am for our family book and a biscuit event. All family members are welcome to come and share a story with their nursery child.

We will also be hosting a used toy and book sale to raise money for nursery resources.

We hope as many of you can make it as possible to support the nursery children continue developing a love of reading.

Nursery: Out of school achievements!

Dear all Nursery parents and carers,

We would love to hear about your child’s out of school achievements!

If your child has learnt to ride a bike, awarded for swimming successes, dress themselves independently, score a goal, have the confidence to dance in a show… whatever it may be, please share it with us so we can celebrate your child in school.

Any photos of these achievements would be greatly appreciated for our display in our cloakroom.

Many thanks,

Mrs Hay & Mrs Burton

Nursery: A beautiful day!

The children had another lovely day building friendships, building train track worlds, adding more texture and colour to our collaborative work from last week, taking care of babies, washing cars in the car wash, using play dough to make cookies, buns and pizza.

The children have been learning British Sign Language for ‘I’m sorry’, ‘please’, ‘thank you’, ‘tomato’, ‘carrot’, ‘milk’ and ‘water’ and have been picking this up really well.

Super work Nursery Crew!

Nursery: play and establishing routines

This week we have welcomed some new friends to nursery who are doing a great job of settling in. The children have been playing beautifully and are starting to learn some basic rules and routines in our nursery. There has been lots of painting, building, physical play, lots of story reading, snack eating, bubble blowing, role play and friendship making.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring?
