We had such fun doing our Zumba session this week with Mrs Raynor. In Expedition we have been learning about how our bodies grow. We now know that exercise is a really important part of that. So, instead of just talking about it, we had a go ourselves.
Well done everyone and a big thank you to Mrs Raynor for teaching us some awesome dances.
Maths Week 2025 is here, and we’re kicking things off with an exciting home learning challenge! This is your chance to get creative, have fun with numbers, and showcase your mathematical thinking.
For our first home learning challenge, we’d like you to choose a number and create a poster displaying different ways to represent it. You can show your number using:
Numerals (e.g. 7)
Words (e.g. seven)
Pictures (e.g. seven stars)
Number sentences (e.g. 3 + 4 = 7)
Arrays
Tally marks
Money
Anything else creative!
How to Take Part
Choose a number that inspires you.
Design and decorate your poster using any materials you like – be as colourful and imaginative as possible!
Make sure your poster clearly shows your chosen number in a variety of ways.
Submit your entry to Mr Mumby by Friday to take part in the challenge.
We can’t wait to see your fantastic ‘Ways to Show a Number’ posters! Get your thinking caps on, grab your pencils, and start creating.
A huge congratulations to our HOWL point winners Renee and Alicja and our Crew Champions Blossom and Holly! They have shown kindness and are working hard in phonics and with their confidence in all that they do. The reception crew are super proud of you!
This week in PE the reception children have been practicing the skill of dribbling a ball. The children listened carefully, following instructions to take it in turns to dribble the ball and score points with their partners! Here are some of our skillls in action!
What a wonderful community crew meeting we have had today! The children absolutely blew me away with their explanations of beautiful work, their shout outs for each other and their excitement of each other’s achievements! They really are a great reception crew! Huge congratulations to Finley and Freya for being HOWL point winners this week! An even bigger congratulations to our first crew champions of the spring term Mason and Reuben! You make us all so proud everyday and your kindness and beautiful work really shines! What role models!
We had a great afternoon learning about the secrets of sleep and a great bedtime routine. We were so lucky that lots of grown ups came to support us. We read some stories, had some hot chocolate and biscuits, practised brushing our teeth and enjoyed relaxing together.
.
Thanks so much to all of the children and grown ups that made it so lovely ☺️
We were so lucky to have Mrs Booth and her 2 children join us for our Expedition session this morning. We are looking at how we grow and it was great to see some children of different ages and stages. We had lots of questions and we will be checking in again with the children again to see how they are progressing.
The children were lovely and calm to make sure the babies felt happy and safe.
I know that many parents are aware that we are changing how we are supporting children with their reading, moving forward. Please read the attached letter and complete the google form above.
As soon as a parent has signed the google form to say that they agree, your child will come home with their set of reading books, which will be changed on a Friday from now on.
In the meantime, please don’t worry that you don’t have school books over the weekend because any books that you read will count towards your school reading challenge.
