Everyone has really impressed me this week so well done for a fantastic start to year 3.

Wednesday’s Learning Legend – Rex – For showing a fantastic attitude to learning and always being ready to learn. A fantastic role model.

Friday’s Learning Legend – Callum – For a great effort with your writing and for editing and improving your work.

Crew Bridge Building Challenge!

This afternoon we have been working as crews to make a bridge out of straws and masking tape. I was really impressed with how well everyone worked together, supported and encouraged each other. You can see all our great work here.

Singing and Sunrises in Class 6

It’s been another fantastic day for week one in Class 6!  We’ve spent more time getting used to our new routines and developing our Crew connections, as well as agreeing our classroom expectations of eachother.

Today we have enjoyed more of our mini-expedition about the sun, moon and stars.  We learnt to sing a new song to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle and added our own actions to help us remember the words.  We also listened to a new story, Summer Sun Arisin’, and used this to create some beautiful watercolour art of the early morning sky.

Behaviour has been out of this world for everybody in Class 6 – let’s keep this up boys and girls!  Our special shout-out today goes to Rowan who was a real Motivated Moe in all his learning today – well done, Rowan.

Fantastic start for Class 10!

What an amazing start to the year we have had in class 10. It has been great to see how enthusiastic everyone has been with all of our learning over the last two days. I am sure we are going to have a great year ahead.

All our learning has been linked to the sun, the moon and the stars. We have read two different stories so far and completed lots of different activities including dance, singing and art.

Day 1 for Crew Dutton

What a fantastic start we have had in Class 6 today – well done boys and girls!  As a new teacher at Green Top, I have been blown away with your brilliant behaviour in the classroom as well as your VERY impressive work ethic … I am so excited to see how far we can go together in Year 1.

We have spent some time today getting used to our new classroom and routines, as well as enjoying lots of playtime with our friends.  Our mini-expedition kicked off today with the guiding question: Why do authors write books about the sun, moon and stars? and we shared some fascinating wonderings in our collaborative discussion groups.  I really hope that we can find the answers to our questions!

Our learning alien certificates were awarded to Kaila and Katie today – congratulations on both being ‘Have a go Henry’ girls … I wonder which learning alien behaviours we will see tomorrow?
