The Big Battery Hunt

Big Battery Hunt is back for its second year! - Primary Treasure Chest

What is the big battery hunt?

The Big Battery Hunt is a nationwide battery recycling programme for schools funded by Duracell. Its aim is to increase the number of batteries currently being recycled in the UK. Pupils are challenged to collect as many batteries as they can, encouraging their communities to do the same.

All you need to do is take any unwanted batteries into school and give them to your school councillor. The school council will collect the batteries, keep count of them and recycle them for you. Let’s see how many we can collect this year!

Year 5 Maths – Angles

Over the next two weeks, we will be learning all about angles. We need to be able to label different angles, order and compare them and be able to measure them using a protractor. We are also learning how to draw different angles. After all that, we will be looking at how to work out missing angles on a straight line and around a point.

Red Nose Day – Friday 17th March

Red Nose Day 2023: New red nose by iPhone designer - CBBC Newsround

To celebrate Comic Relief this year, we are inviting you to come to school dressed in red with a suggested donation of £1.

This years merchandise includes many different Mr Men and Little Miss characters.

As part of Red Nose Day we are launching our very own Design a T-shirt Competition!

If you want to take part, all you need to do is design your very own Red Nose Day t-shirt and bring it with you on Friday 17th March.

Get creative and design it in any way you want! You might want to draw a picture, paint it or even create a t-shirt you can wear on the day.

Each crew will vote for their winning design to be entered into a whole school competition. Have you got what it takes to be our winning design? Good Luck! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
