As part of National Space Week, why don’t you choose an astronaut to research? You could make a poster or a fact file about your chosen astronaut.
You could even listen to the story of Tim Peake, Neil Armstrong and Mae Jemison. Did you know these Big Dreams, Little People book are quizzable on Accelerated Reader?
On Thursday, it is National Poetry Day! As it links with this weeks Reading Week it would be great to see lots of you get involved.
Below is a link to the official website where it tells you lots of information about the day and ways that you can get involved.
The theme this year is COUNTING. I wonder how many of you could write a short poem linking tothe theme?
On the same link, it shows you lots of examples of poems. You might even want to practice one of them at home. Would you have the courage to perform the poem to your crew?
Send photographs, videos or bring in your poems – We can’t wait to see them!
Next week is Green Libraries week. Have you ever visited your local library?
To celebrate, Crew Council is setting everyone a task to recommend their favourite books to their peers.
You could present this as a poster, a book review, a leaflet or a picture of the front cover of your favourite book.
Next week, your Crew Councillor will be presenting theirs – this might help you with some ideas!
Please hand in your finished piece to your Crew leaders. These will look amazing in your class reading area! You could even bring in your favourite book to share with your friends!
As an extra challenge – Could you research what Green Libraries week is about? What does it mean to be Green and Sustainable?
This year, we are working hard to raise money to develop our reading for pleasure library so firstly, we would like to say a huge thank you for all your sponsors from the colour run which will go along way to helping us!
Secondly, we still need your help! We would love for you to help us design the library based on the space we have to use which is the foyer area near the hall.
Please design your ideal library and share your plans with Miss Knowles in person or at [email protected] This is for everyone across school to get involved in! Please send your plans by 7th October.
We can’t wait to see your fantastic ideas which will help us design the perfect library!
It has been brought to our attention that there is currently an issue with parents accessing the links shared in our previous blog about the Homework Menu and Parent Overview for Autumn 24/25. We are looking into this and hope to have the matter resolved as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we will continue to grant access where requested when the links are clicked on but for now, please see screenshots below for the information being shared.
