Trinity Academy are now in the final stages of constructing a bid to the Football Foundation for a new 3G football and rugby training pitch. A similar facility at their school in Blyth, Northumberland opened in 2024 and it is used almost exclusively by junior grassroots sports clubs and community outreach programmes outside of teaching hours. They hope that a 3G pitch here will be equally transformational for children in the local area.
A key component of the bid is for them to demonstrate that there is considerable support from local grassroots sports clubs and the local community – evidenced through a Public Consultation which runs until 17th October.
