Ask your children about digraphs!

In class 3 and 4 this week we have been learning about digraphs in our phonics lessons. The children have been blending words with digraphs at the end and highlighting digraphs in words. Miss Hughes, Mrs Cook, Mrs Hardman and I have been astounded by the children’s knowledge and how quickly they have learnt to spot these graphemes in words!

Ask your child – can they explain what the word ‘digraph’ means?

  1. Helen Matthews

Oh my goodness Eve mentioned digraph yesterday at tea time. It blew my mind xx

    • Well done Eve you can have ten house points for sharing your learning at home!!

  2. Selina Madeley

Jakes was telling us all about and even explained it to his grandparents!
    Very proud of him

  3. Callum mentioned digraphs the other day too I was so shocked I wasn’t sure what he meant at first, he’s learning so much and very impressed with his reading too so proud of him it’s brilliant listening to him about the things he’s learning at school 🙂

  4. Wow now I understand why Archie was saying ‘oo’ in the word too in one of his reading books was a digraph. I’m so proud of what he has already learnt in just 7 weeks it’s Amazing!!!
