In Nursery this week as part of community crew we began to unpick why trees are important for us. Here are some of the reasons that the children gave about the real trees around us. We did discuss the differences between real trees and plastic Christmas trees first!
George: “Animals live in trees like squirrels.”
Aria: “Apples grow on trees!”
Charlotte: “In really really hot places bananas grow on trees”
Eli: “Wood comes from trees like a wooden spoon!”
Ava: “They help us breathe well”
Kitty: “When it’s hot we can sit under them”
Grace: “Squirrels hide nuts from trees”
Ezra: “They help us make things like tree houses and this (furniture unit) We can get bananas from trees”
Ruby: “Trees give us food like apples”
George V : “Mice live in trees”
