Fabulous Friday in Crew Jackson

What a fabulous Friday we had in Crew Jackson. We became authors for the morning, exploring day and night and what the sun and moon see.  The children thought carefully about the adjectives they could use and went on to write their own little books.  Ia m super proud of each and every one of them as they were all Have ago Henry’s.

Big shout out to Lucas who was our learning legend for his book about the moon.  He even went on to make his own book about Pokemon during Funky Friday Time.

Congratulations to Jacob who was our ‘Out of this World’ winner this week. What an amazing start to Year 2 he has made with an outstanding attitude to learning.

Moon Zentangles

What an awesome day we have had in Crew Jackson today!  The children really impressed me with their concentration and careful attention to detail when producing moon themed zentangles.  They used the knowledge they had gained from our previous lesson about the phases of the moon and included these in their design.

Massive shout out to Kizzi who used ideas from the examples we looked at together at the start of the lesson.  Other children were then inspired by Kizzi’s ideas and when critiquing magpied these into their own designs this afternoon.

Super maths work today

Well done Class 9 on your awesome maths learning today with Mrs Miller.  I know you worked really hard to recall your place value of 3 digit numbers and used this to help you use the greater and less than symbols to order the numbers. I love that you remembered the crocodile always eats the bigger number and this made for some fab symbols!

Keep up the super work you are doing :))

Awesome learning legends

A big shout out from Mrs Miller this afternoon for Ryla and Lilly who were Learning Legends at following instructions and creating their hot air balloons pictures.

Congratulations girls!

Starry night artwork by Class 9 little stars

Check out some of the amazing artwork produced by Class 9 this morning.  After critiquing Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry night, the children used  a mix of pastels, chalks and crayons to recreate their own starry night masterpiece.  I am super proud of all my little artists and I can’t wait until the others are finished later this week.

Class 9 learning legends

A big shout out to Annis and Jacob for their awesome writing and reading today. I am so impressed with their use of phonics to sound out words they want to use in their written work and their blending when reading.

Keep up the hard work!

Wonderful sunsets

Check out some of Class 9’s wonderful sunset collages like the sunset in our class book where the sunset over the fields.

Class 9 Learning Legend…Erin!

What a super star Erin has been today.  Today you were an excellent role model to everyone in Crew Jackson and produced to beautiful pieces of work.

Big congratulations on being our learning legend!

A fantastic day 2 in Class 9

What a fantastic day we have had exploring our transition mini expedition about the Sun, Moon and Stars.  The children have worked so incredibly hard, enjoying singing with actions, a new story called Summer Sun Risin’ and finishing with some beautiful collage work of a sunset like the one in the story.

Check out some of our awesome learning below!

A big shout out to Erin and Pandora who were the first in Class 9 to get their work on to our ‘beautiful work’ board this morning.  Beautiful pieces of writing and drawing presented to a high standard.

I am super proud of everyone in our Crew and can’t wait to see what awesome learning you are going to do tomorrow! 🙂

Welcome back Year 2!

What a fantastic day we have had in Class 9 today.  Everyone came in with a big smile and full of excitement to be back at school and see their friends.  I loved seeing everyone’s happy faces in Crew Jackson.

Today we have created class norms and thought carefully about our learning aliens and how they live on the green planet. I am so super proud to say that today we all stayed on the green planet and worked so incredibly hard.

We really enjoyed the first part of our transition work on the sun and moon and I can’t wait to share another story with you all tomorrow and complete some beautiful work.

Well done everyone, let’s keep it up!
