Class 15 and the rest of Year 5 have all enjoyed an amazing Egyptian-themed day. We started by enjoying a very informative presentation by the ladies from Heritage Doncaster who were blown away, not only by our beautiful behaviour but our fantastic prior-knowledge too! To say I was super proud would be an understatement so a huge well done to everybody. Then we took part in a number of different exploratory activities that allowed us to get hands-on with some very realistic replica artefacts.
The rest of our morning was spent digesting all of our new learning with some chilled Ancient Egyptian music and artwork. In the afternoon, we reflected on our workshop experience before heading to the hall for a whole year group fun session. We danced like an Egyptian, played musical Egyptian statues and squeezed in a game of Egyptian-themed corners. To end the day, we made links with the healthy eating theme of our expedition and enjoyed a fruit kebab reward … very YUMMY MUMMY!
A huge shout out to all of the children – I am so proud of you all and thank you for such an enjoyable day! I would also like to say a big thank you for those who could dress up – you all looked fantastic :). Please keep your costumes safe as we will ask you to use them again for our final product and celebration events at the end of the term.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and can’t wait to see how much more learning lies in store for us all next week.
