KS1 Family Learning

What a fantastic afternoon for our KS1 Family Learning! The children and their grown ups had lots of fun matching foods to their different food groups, doing some exercises to see the difference in resting pulse and pulse rate after exercise, some painting of fruit and even some potato stamping to produce beautiful pictures.

All of the children filled out an exit ticket about what we learned today and we will record these in Theme books.

A huge thank you to all of the parents/ carers and families who attended today and embraced all of the activities so enthusiastically!!

We appreciate your continued support!

Hope you all enjoyed it!

The KS1 Team 😊

Ronnie Eve Amelia Florri and Mia and Isla babies

Charley and Ava Juvenilles

I heard Ronnie and Eve also participated in solo acts against some very big sections no placements but they were absolutely out of this world.

Well done to all of you!!!

Crafting up the classroom…

This week has been ‘Hook Week’ and we’ve all loved making crafts to decorate and immerse our classroom for our theme ‘What’s living at the bottom of the garden?’

We can’t wait for our family learning session tomorrow afternoon to make even more exciting decorations and craft. We hope you can join us!

Here are some of our children making paper plate mini beasts yesterday.

As part of World Book Day staff have written a quote about reading.  Can you spot them around the corridors?  Maybe you would like to write a quote about reading and share it with your class.

WH Brown Quiz Winner!

Emily-Rai won 1st prize after taking the WH Brown quiz. We all learnt lots of interesting facts about Thorne from their visit the other week.

We are so excited about our learning exploration!  Watch this space for our collaborative work with WH Brown…

McDonald’s Visit

Mike, the owner of the Thorne branch McDonald’s came to visit KS1 today to inform the children about why he opened a restaurant business in Thorne and why it is a huge success in our town.

The children asked some excellent questions and now have lots of great information to support their learning exploration work.

A huge thank you from us all at Green Top to Mike for giving up his time and coming to visit us today.
