Congratulations to all our learning legends this week! Special shout outs go to Annabel and Poppy who have shared some wonderful homework they have been busy with at home.
Annabel has made a lollipop replica of Amelia Earhart’s first aeroplane, as well as a fantastic fact file all about her. Whilst, Poppy has made a fantastic 3D cardboard model of a car – well done girls!
This week kicked off with odd socks day on Monday and Class 6 have shared some wonderful reflections about anti-bullying, linking their ideas to our Being Kind HoWL. The children have also enjoyed designing their own jigsaw pieces to show how we are all one piece of the picture in stopping bullying.
Class 6 thoroughly enjoyed their Tots Rugby session this afternoon. It was great to see their beaming faces zooming around the playground and practising their catching skills and touchdowns – great job everybody!
Keep your eyes peeled for more information about regular tots rugby sessions starting after Christmas.
Well done to Poppy who is our Out of this World champ this week. Not only is Poppy a real Motivated Mo every day, always trying her best but she is super kind and always very polite to others. A great role-model to her crew mates.
And a big well done to our learning legends this week, including: Poppy, Samantha, Cara, Harley, Savannah, Kaila and Harry. Great job guys 🙂
This week, Class 6 have enjoyed learning about the Indian festival of Diwali which begins on Saturday. We have learned about the story of Rama and Sita, practised our fine motor skills by carefully colouring rangoli patterns and listened to some Diwali-inspired Indian music.
Lest we forget. 11AM fell in the middle of playtime today but it didn’t stop Year1 from pausing to show their respect with a 2minute silence. Well done to all the boys and girls who have shared some wonderful reflections about why Remembrance Day is so important.
Thanks to all who have entered the pumpkin competition. The deadline for entries is 12pm today. Unfortunately any entries received after this time will not be part of the judging. One winner per phase will be announced and all entries will receive a small treat on their return to school next Monday. Details of the competition are below:
🎃🍁🍂Happy half term 🎃🍁🍂
At Green Top we are sad that family learning can’t take place as it would usually in our classrooms and therefore we have pledged to have a family learning activity each half term for the whole school community to get involved with.
The first family learning challenge will be a ‘Carve or Decorate your own pumpkin’ competition. This competition will be judged on 31st October. There can be one entry per child and all entries must be entered by a photograph sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by the 12pm Tuesday 27th October. As photographs are entered they will be blogged on the website for all to see. All students who enter will receive a ‘treat’ on their return to school on 2nd November.
In addition one winner will be selected from each phase. Winners will be announced on October 31st.
