Phonics Challenge

Can you make your very own phonics basket? Pick one of these letters s,a, t, p, i, n or maybe you’d like to pick the letter your name begins with. Then find things from around your house or garden that begins with that letter.

Send a picture of your baskets to [email protected]

Maths Challenge

Over the coming weeks we will be looking at representing number in different ways. How many ways can you represent numbers?

You could use play dough, paint, finger printing, objects, dice, twigs, leaves… anything! Pick a number between 1 – 20 and show how you can make it and count objects in different ways!

Please send any maths work you do to [email protected]

Charlotte’s Vegetables

Charlotte has been super busy this weekend planting fruit and vegetables and making her own labels.

Well done Charlotte! Your labels are so beautiful and we hope you get a super tasty harvest from all of your efforts.

WOW!  Well done to everyone who took the time to celebrate maths by photographing maths in our community!  We have some wonderful examples that I can’t wait to display around school.
Here are a few examples:
We will share more as the week goes on!
Wednesday’s maths challenge:
What does 100 grams look like?  Can you measure out 100g into a food bag and bring it to school?  Last year we looked at what 100 looks like and it will be great to compare 100 and 100g!
Don’t forget Friday’s maths challenge is our Maths Dress up day!  We are raising money for NSPCC and our target is £500!  We are asking for a donation of £1 (minimum).
Thank you once again for supporting our maths week!  We have started well!

Learning Legend of the Day!

Congratulations to Ivy ray for being an Exploring Eddie today in her play. You are always super kind and have been a super star in maths today impressing all of the adults in nursery. I really praise the writing of numbers and how much you keep on trying. Keep up the good work!

Miss Carter

Reuben’s Maths!

A HUGE well done to Reuben for continuing his learning at home after enjoying learning our ‘number of the day’ – number 5 at Nursery. Reuben enjoyed drawing a ladybird with 5 spots and collecting 5 stones linked to our story in literacy ‘What the Ladybird Heard’. Well done Reuben! You have been a real Connecting Connie! We are super proud of you!

Stack, stack, stacking the tyres…

The children outside loved stacking and building with the tyres this afternoon. They worked collaboratively to lift the tyres and plan out where they would put them. We were so proud to watch them working together and figuring out how to overcome challenges.

An amazing day with Ian’s Farm!

WOW! What an incredible day we’ve had with Ian’s Farm. We met ducks, donkeys, alpacas, a pony, a tortoise, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats and lambs. Not to forget, Meg – the star of the show, Ian’s beautiful sheep dog. All of the children loved seeing the animals and getting up close to stroke or brush them. The day was filled with real ‘awe and wonder’ moments, it was truly beautiful to see.

Thank you Ian’s farm for inspiring us in our expedition learning and visiting us today!

Here are some photos from our wonderful day…
